Adaptive bitrate

A playback method that changes video quality in real time based on current bandwidth and device performance.

CDN

Content Delivery Network. A distributed infrastructure that serves media from the nearest location.

Jitter

Variation in packet arrival time that can cause stutter, lag, or sync issues.

Latency

Total delay between request and playback response, usually measured in milliseconds.

Packet loss

Data packets failing to reach destination, often causing freezes or quality degradation.

Transcoding

Converting media from one format or bitrate to another for compatibility.
